Who are We?
The Fayetteville Cumberland Youth Council’s mission is to serve as a voice for the youth in a youth-led organization, focusing on the betterment and promotion of our community.  FCYC serves as a cross-generational link and participates in service projects and social events to promote character building and leadership development.
What is our purpose?
  • To be the voice of youth in the community and serve as a line of communication between youth and adults of the area.
  • To provide an organization in which youth can organize and supervise programs for the benefit of area youth and the community.
  • To provide an opportunity for youth to share in local government matters and to learn to become responsible citizens.
  • To encourage city and county planning agencies to invite youth to serve on city and county committees and contribute to community planning.
Kindness Matters
The youth council regularly demonstrates its passion for projects that promote kindness throughout the community, especially in our highschools. The Kindness Matters project and Anti-Bullying Campaign are examples of their efforts to embody kindness and encourage others to do the same.
Anti-Litter Campaign
Members of the youth council enjoy participating in community-wide clean-up events to ensure, their home  and the city they love, Fayetteville, remains #cleanville.
Glow Fest
The Glow Fest is an annual 5k run/walk and concert, this event remains a way for the council to raise money to support its efforts to serve their community and give residents and unique way to demonstrate their support of the council's endeavors.
Attend City & County Meetings
In order to serve as a voice for the youth council members recognize they must not only conduct themselves as respectable, upstanding members of the community but also seek out listening ears and use willing platforms to mobilize people to support the mission of FCYC.
